Cutting Edge Maintenance Program

The first time your blade is sharpened by the Strop Shop the proper angles are determined, and all information regarding your blade automatically goes into our Cutting Edge Maintenance Program files.

The idea is to remove as little metal as possible each time your knives are sharpened, extending the use of your knives indefinitely. Your quality knives should last you a lifetime if you have them sharpened periodically. You'll get more life out of your investment and you will enjoy the use of sharp knives as opposed to dull ones.

The Strop Shop® keeps a record of the number of each knife or utensil that is sharpened, what the original factory angle is, the number of each stone that is used in the multi-stage sharpening process and any details about the condition of the knife or utensil. A digital photograph is made of the knives and stored for future reference.

These records are retrieved when the knives are sharpened the next time so the correct angle can be set consistently, and the correct stone can be selected, lessening the amount of metal that must be removed. This process ensures you of a lifetime of use from your expensive cutlery and other kitchen and household utensils.
